Cooking Up Delicious Food

Here are some snapshots of our cooking experiences in The Kids' Kitchen this year!  The kids learned many cooking skills such as peeling, mixing, blending, tearing, dicing, and baking.  They also enjoyed learning about the different food groups and the importance of having a balanced plate. Cooking is hard work, but A LOT of fun!

Who's In the Kids' Kitchen?

Amanda Schrag has been an educator for over 15 years, and is currently a second grade teacher with the Clark County School District.  Living in Las Vegas since 2004 with her husband and two children, one of her favorite hobbies is cooking.  This interest began when she was a little girl in her mother’s kitchen, and she loves that her children have inherited this interest in cooking as well.  Seeing the joy and excitement her own children have in the kitchen learning about math, etiquette, and healthy eating habits, The Kids’ Kitchen is a way for Amanda to share her love of cooking with those around her!

Julia Games has been an educator for over 20 years, and is currently a fifth grade teacher.  Originally from Philadelphia, she, her husband, and now two daughters, have resided in Las Vegas since 2000.  She enjoys tasting and creating new and interesting recipes.  Her two daughters love to jump in and get messy with Mom in the kitchen.  She looks forward to sharing this excitement with other little chefs in The Kids’ Kitchen.
